Loggers voices were heard once again in Washington, DC as a representative for the American Loggers Council (ALC) testified at the House Agriculture Conservation, Energy and Forestry Subcommittee hearing on the 2012 Farm Bill.

Schwab’s testimony included comments on the current Forest Inventory Analysis (FIA) program, the Forest Stewardship Contracting Authority, and current energy policies found in the 2008 Farm Bill and the results that they have had on timber harvesters.

Schwab’s company, M. A. Rigoni, Inc. based in Perry, Fla., has had the opportunity to be involved first-hand in several of the programs that were authorized in the 2008 Farm Bill, including the Biomass Crop Assistance Program (BCAP) and the Forest Stewardship Contracting program. As a result of his direct involvement with those programs, Schwab was able to convey to the subcommittee members as to what programs were working and which programs could use improvement.
