Dave Cupp Named To Louisiana’s Agriculture ‘Hall Of Distinction’
Walsh Timber Co. manager and current American Loggers Council President David Cupp was inducted into Louisiana’s Agricultural Hall of Distinction earlier this year. The 1984 Virginia Tech graduate (two degrees!) worked with Boise Cascade out of DeRidder, La. for almost 11 years, then joined Walsh Timber and has been there since 1995—31 years and counting. He has served as president of the Louisiana Forestry Assn. and was one of the initial members of the Southern Loggers Cooperative, based in Pineville, La. At his induction ceremony, he said he’s been proud to see several Walsh Timber contractors named logger of the year, and also his involvement with Children’s Miracle Network through the logging groups.
